Salim Chahbar and Kaouthar Abouzeenni are set to be wed on February 13, 2010.

Salim was born and raised in London Ontario while Kaouthar grew up in the small town of Woodstock, Ontario. The couple met at a holiday party thrown by one of Kaouthar’s best friends who happened to be Salim’s cousin. The matchmaker insisted that the two would make the perfect couple. Soon after, the couple went on to realize that their paths had crossed several times throughout their childhood as they frequently played on the same street and even in the same house.

The engagement took place on November 1, 2009 in Woodstock, Ontario. It only took two midnight shifts at the Abouzeenni family bakery for Salim to muster up the courage to ask Kaouthar’s father for his blessing. With her fathers permission in hand, Salim placed the ring on Kaouthar’s finger who quickly said YES and the rest is history.

Lee Mann Photography had a wonderful time doing Salim’s and Kaouthar’s E-Session. After getting rained out at the end of the fall we were able to re-schedule to a perfect but very cold evening,with a touch of snow on the ground just before Christmas! While very relaxed in front of the camera, Salim and Kaouthar, were comfortable just being themselves while our Lee Mann Photography Team caught the shots.

With the wedding only about 3 weeks away, and will be held at the Convention Centre in London Ontario, the couple has everything in place and is so excited for their special day, and our Team can’t wait as well.

Carolyn and Aaron were both born in the same town of Sarnia, Ontario. It was cool that their parents have been friends since high school. Aaron’s family moved away to Burlington when he was 1 year old. While growing up, Carolyn hung around with Aaron’s relatives and was best friends with his cousin in Sarnia. Then one New Years Eve 3 1/2 years ago, Carolyn and Aaron’s families and a few other families got together to celebrate New Year’s. Carolyn and Aaron reunited for the first time since they babies and they were instantly attracted to each other. It was a great weekend of roller skating, watching football, and hanging out.

After the weekend, the two of them sent emails back and forth, getting to know each other. Aaron finally worked up the nerve to call Carolyn on Valentine’s Day to tell her he was very interested in her. It was a long distance relationship for the first year and a half until they both got into McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.

Dinner at a little quaint bistro and a hike in the escarpment of Burlington, Ontario was a special day for them when they had their first date and back at the same place three years later Aaron proposed to Carolyn on February 21st. They went to the little bistro for dinner to celebrate their third year of dating. After dinner, Aaron suggested they wander down to the old bridge where they had been on their first date. At first Carolyn didn’t want to go down to the bridge as she was in a short dress and high heels and it had been snowing. Aaron didn’t give in and after 20 minutes of subtle convincing, she agreed and down they went through the snow to the bridge. Aaron grabbed a garbage bag out of the forest and in it were candles that he lit on the bridge. Carolyn hadn’t clued in yet because Aaron is the romantic type and had gone all out on previous dates. When he got down on one knee Carolyn was so surprised but so happy. She said yes.

Brandon and Valerie were 16 when they met. Valerie’s good friend Sarah had invited her to stay with her and her family at a cottage they rented in Tobermory, Ontario. Tobermory is renowned for their lighthouses, fresh water diving excursions, as well as their crystal clear water and beautiful scenery. Brandon’s grandparents have owned a cottage in Tobermory for many years, and therefore Brandon and his family spend a lot of time there each summer. On Valerie’s second last day at the cottage, Sarah and her decided to take her younger sister to the rocks near the water, which over look the famous little tub lighthouse. The girls were cliff jumping into the water when they noticed Sarah’s sister talking to two guys and their big Weimaraner dog Crystal. Crystal was also cliff jumping into the water to retrieve a stick the guys kept throwing into the water. Sarah and Valerie went over to make sure An wasn’t getting into trouble and was safe. The girls started up a conversation with the guys who turned out to be Brandon and his older brother Ryan. They decided to meet up later on in the evening for a game of basketball, followed by more cliff jumping and a camp fire. Valerie and Brandon exchanged emails, and when she arrived back home, within days, Brandon emailed Valerie saying she had left a “lasting impression” on him. From then on Valerie and Brandon dated long distance throughout high school and university.
Now Valerie’s a nurse and Brandon is in the hiring stage for the OPP and they are so excited as he proposed just a few weeks ago while they were apple picking which they do every Thanksgiving near Brandon’s home town.
After having a great E-Session with Valerie and Brandon climbing hills and rocks and crossing the river, it seemed only right to visit an apple orchard for a few special shots…Thanksgiving and apple time will always be special for them as Brandon got down on one knee in the middle of the orchard to propose to Valerie just this past Thanksgiving.

You can’t help but love this sweet, sincere couple. James and Yancy met and started dating in high school. James says that he was too shy to talk to Yancy at first, but his friends pushed him into it and he was sure glad he did. Life has never been the same since as this wonderful couple has shared many great times together.

In 2008 Yancy and James went to Disney world with James family. One day after going to 3 out of 4 parks, they were finally watching the fireworks in front of the Disney castle when James asked her to marry him. She said yes, and his timing was perfect! Believe it or not, heart-shaped fireworks started popping up in the sky.

Our Lee Mann Photography Team had a great time with Yancy and James as we did their Engagement Shoot. Apples and pumpkins and fall leaves made our time even more fun.

Our Lee Mann Photography Team had a great evening with Jessica and Curtis getting to know them better doing their E-Session (Engagement Shoot). Right from the first photo Jessica and Curtis were so comfortable in front of the camera and in fact, it was as if we weren’t even there.

Lee Mann Photography always loves hearing about every couple’s engagement. Every story is different. Curtis loves to give Jessica surprises and on a very special weekend he gave her a surprise that would last for their lifetime.

Curtis took Jessica away on a surprise weekend into Toronto for some shopping and then they had dinner at the restaurant they went to on their first date in Guelph. They stayed the night at a suite in the Delta where in the morning he gave her a card saying all the reasons why he loved her and then he proposed. Jessica and Curtis left Guelph to return home where Curtis had planned a party which the guests believed was Jessica’s surprise birthday party only to find out the couple was telling them they were engaged!

It’s a well known cliché: a groomsman and a bridesmaid meet at a wedding, are paired up for the day, end up falling in love, then eventually decide to pair up for life. However, for Greg Westman and Joelle Turner the worn out stereotype formed a ring of truth as it became reality for them.

It all started when Greg’s friend Nate married Joelle’s cousin Emily back in July 2005. Greg was a cool, aviator sporting, toe tapping, music loving, rock-star groomsman; Joelle, now a UofT grad with her BMus in Jazz Performance for Voice, was the lucky bridesmaid he escorted down the aisle. It was clearly an epic love song meant-to-be-sung.

So…how does such a cool guy propose to his sweet songstress? During a recent missions trip to Puerto Rico, Greg wrote, “Will You marry Me?” in the sand on a beach, took a picture, had it developed back in Canada, and put it last in the pile of trip pictures he sat down to share with Joelle on August 30th, 2009. When Joelle reached the last picture, she said, “Wow! What a cool idea! Did you just find this on the beach randomly?” to which Greg replied, “No. I put it there…so…will you marry me?!” and Joelle said, “No thank you.” Just kidding! She obviously said, “Yes Please!!!!!!!”

Now, they are preparing to sing the next song in their musical medley of life and love together. On October 10, 2010 Joelle will again be escorted down the aisle- to marry her former groomsman.

As you are aware, the month of October has had some pretty cold days, but the15th was especially that way as we headed out into the woods with Greg and Joelle. It wasn’t long till Joelle picked up her guitar that she brought and started singing. What a great time we had with them that cold and windy day in the leaves. Back at the house they played a few tunes on the piano and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate while they snuggled up.

We will always remember that day as it ended with our first snowfall of 2009 in London, Ontario.

Isn’t it funny how two people grew up only an hour away and never knew each other, but travel miles and miles away for their jobs, and meet and fall in love.

When Erica, from London Ontario, went up north for a teaching position she had no idea what would happen next. Bryan and Erica met in Moosonee, Ontario. It turned out that Bryan was her supply teacher. He was so persistent in pursuing her. Every day Erica would get notes in her mail box at school or in her coat pocket until Bryan put a note in the wrong coat pocket. For Bryan it was literally love at first sight. He went home and told his mother the second time they met that he was going to marry Erica. Bryan and Erica are meant to be. On May 24, 2009 he got down on one knee on a bridge between two ponds as they awaited their train ride back to Moosonee. Erica said yes to her best friend.

Lee Mann Photography had such a fun afternoon with Erica and Bryan. They love the outdoors and love sports so it wasn’t unusual that they made canoeing and biking their choice for their E-Session! They had us laughing right from the moment we started. There were a few serious moments too when their canoe got stuck on a rock just a little ways from the rapids….We held our breath for a second while they worked it off. They were so willing to try anything we suggested even the two of them riding on one bike.

Both of them always have a smile on their face and really you can see the love between them as they just love doing anything when they are together!
Congratulations Erica and Bryan and LMP looks so forward to your wedding next July.

Jess and Brad met through a mutual friend of theirs who had them exchange email addresses. They talked a few times on the phone and their first date was when Brad offered to take her grocery shopping at the SuperStore. They had “creeped” each other on Facebook before so they knew what each other looked like, but when he knocked on her door and she answered it he actually had to look away because he had this stupid smile on his face (pretty much a WOWZA face Brad said) and within a second he just knew that he wanted to pursue this young woman like nothing else he had ever wanted in his life.

From that moment forward Brad said that he knew he was destined to be with her; even when she made her try to kiss her twice before she finally relented!

Our first summer Brad took her on a trip to Niagara Falls where they went horseback riding and on a few winery tours. At Peller Estates they took a stemware class and fell in love with wine. Brad proposed at Peller in the very vineyard they had walked in the first summer they met with a private lunch in their 5 star restaurant with their own Sous Chef who made a full course meal incorporating their Signature Series Chardonnay. Although Brad wanted the engagement to be a secret (with only a few managers there knowing my intention), all the women figured out that day what Brad was up to and watched from the glass windows of the estate.

The ring Brad proposed to Jess with has a diamond he bought when he was only 21. Brad hadn’t met Jess yet and in fact he was actually single at the time…….so there you go to all single guys reading this…. But Brad said that he always knew that the right woman in his life would only ever deserve the best so he bought the diamond first. He had the ring hand made in London with a matching wedding band that compliments her ring perfectly. When Brad got down on one knee he said he never asked her to “marry me” instead asked her if she’d “give me forever.”

From the first time we met this couple we couldn’t help but see their love for each other. Our Lee Mann Photography Team enjoyed a fall afternoon catching shots of them just spending time together.

Lise and Mark met at Robinson Hall and were both DD’s for our friends that night (which he has never been again to this day,). They made eye contact several times but Lise was the only girl sitting at a table of 7 guy friends and she never thought he’d have the nerve to come up to her. He didn’t have any lame pick-up lines, he was just himself and that’s what Lise first loved about Mark.
Last hockey season they lived in Portland Maine and on their final day before heading home to London, Mark and Lise took a long walk where he proposed on the rocks overlooking the ocean. He jokes that he had easy access to a cliff if Lise said no!

Our Lee Mann Photography Team had an incredible evening at the beach doing their Engagement shoot.  Mark really wasn’t sure about getting in the water but Lise’s beautiful smile and gorgeous eyes convinced him to get into the water even though it was not very warm.  We laughed as the cold waves covered Mark and his expressions were priceless.

It wasn’t long into the shoot when we were convinced that this beautiful couple was made to be in front of the camera and our team loved every minute shooting with them.   We couldn’t believe the ring that Mark gave Lise.  To say it was incredible is an understatement.  Lise had shown Mark a picture of a ring that she loved that he saw in a magazine that they were looking at years ago and he put this in the back of his mind and didn’t forget.  He remembered the style all this time.  He had it designed and there isn’t a detail missing.  It’s the most beautiful ring you could imagine.

Mark is an amazing professional hockey player and the two will soon be leaving for the winter as soon as they hear where his contract takes him.  They have travelled so much and love it.  They are so organized and have their whole wedding planned already as they won’t be back this way until just a short time before their special day!

Our Team is so excited to shoot their wedding on July 24,2010! Congratulations Lise and Mark!

Mike surprised Sheila with a beautiful diamond only about a week before our shoot!  They were so excited.

The Lee Mann Photography Team started our evening with them, by making a stop at the ice cream shop.  It wasn’t long until Sheila and Mike had us laughing as they were willing to try anything for fun.  We had a great evening taking shots on the beach and ending with a beautiful sunset!

Sheila and Mike, are both teachers way up in Norman Wells, Northwest Territories, so they are up in the middle of nowhere where it is so freezing cold and dark most of the winter.

Lee is glad the wedding will be at Hessenland Country Inn near the beach next July and not in freezing Norman Wells, as he thinks winters here are bad enough without going to Northwest Territories.  He doesn’t think it would even thaw up there by July.

We can’t wait for your wedding Sheila and Mike.  You are such an amazing couple and so fun!  Congratulations!
